The glorious past
The Capitoline Museums are officially the first Museum of the history, created by the pope Sixtus IV in 1471. They are probably also the most beloved ones for the romans.
You will see art and marble collections, public buildings, talk about religion and politics, all of which unveil the contradictions, the lights and the shadows, the stories, and the history of the great power of the Roman Empire.
