TREASURES OF THE VATICAN
Vatican Museums
Sistine Chapel
We propose a suggestive immersion among the treasures of the Vatican Museums, their history and their infinite beauty.
This is definitely one of the must-see tours for anyone in Rome.
Rome’s most precious treasures are contained in the jewel box of the Vatican Museums. But in addition to being the custodian of inestimable works of art collected through the centuries, the same building that houses them is in itself a work of art, created as the magnificent residence of the rulers of Rome: the Popes. The rooms provide a chronology of the great epochs of the city, allowing us to reconstruct history through the artworks, events and characters that have been the protagonists of this place. And at the top of the list of protagonists there are of course Michelangelo Buonarroti and Raffaello Sanzio, who, under the bellicose but artistically illuminated reign of Pope Julius II, were the architects of the greatest works ever conceived (and perhaps still unsurpassed) in the history of art.
